I have already lost touch with a couple of people that I used to be
Exploring notions of embodiment and depictions of the body. This project explores what it means to have a body, looking at skin both as an organ and as a racialised and politicised object. Inspired by the writings of Trinidadian activist C.L.R James and based on natural forms, both sculptures deal with feelings of disconnect and explore the process of uncovering and shedding layers of the self.
